Pintail Ltd | EU Proposals

EU Proposals

Pintail are also occasionally involved in supporting teams to create EU proposals in which we are not partners, when the coordinator does not require administrative support. Typically we review or co-write several such proposals a year, but our cradle-to-grave project management offering is more popular.

Because not all clients are happy to have details of their proposals publicised, only a selection are given here and specific names and project titles are omitted.

Proposal Review

2011: 40+ partner proposal coordinated by an Italian company in the field of digital cultural content creation. This was a large and complex project and a very substantial document when finally finished. The proposal was submitted on time and was successfully retained for funding by the Commission.

2011: We reviewed and provided inputs to a substantial project combining semantic web technologies with language translation tools for an Irish university. The proposal is currently under evaluation.

2011: We reviewed and provided inputs to three projects in the nano-technologies area for an Irish university. All three are currently under evaluation. 2010: We reviewed and provided extensive inputs to an ambitious digital humanities proposal written by a team at an Irish university. The proposal was substantially rebuilt, and was subsequently successful.

2010: We co-wrote a large pan-European proposal in the area of digital cultural heritage and e-Infrastructures for an Italian government agency. The project was duly selected for funding and is now underway. This was the fourth in a series of successful proposals for this client.

EU Sub-Contracting

Pintail occasionally works with clients who are partners in EU projects and require specific expertise which we can offer. In such a scenario we are not partners, but provide a specific service within the context of a project. Our track record includes writing deliverables “from scratch”, re-crafting rough deliverables to bring them up to EU standard, custom R&D, and the facilitation of best practice activities.

Evaluation

We continue to be retained by the Commission as evaluators on their programmes. We have provided evaluation services in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011.
